Yu Youren(1879-1964)  

A famous patrior,educator,calligrapher,poet,pioneer in China’s modern higher education,senior leading member of Xinhai Revolution,main of founder and first president of National Northwest Agriculture and Forestry College in the 1930s.

Xin Shuzhi（1894-1977）

A renowned educator,biologist,historian on Chinese ancient agriculture president of National Northwest Agriculture and Forestry College(1936-38) and National Northwest Agriculture College(1938-39),co-founder and president of Lanzhou University in 1946, president of Northwest Agricultural College(1950-67).

Yu Hongzheng(1897-1966)

A renowned educator, scientist in colloid chemistry, physical chemistry and soil thermodynamics, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor at National Northwest Agricultural College ever since 1938, studying and doing academic research in Britain and USA in 1945, co-founder and first director of Northwest Agricultural Biological Institute of the Chinese Acadey of Sciences in 1954.

Shi Shenghan（1907-1971）

A renowned biologist,plant physiologist, founder of the research on Chinese ancient agricultural history,professor at National Northwest Agriculture and Forestry College(1936-38).Professor and director of Institute of Chinese Ancient Agricultural History at Northwest Agricultural College(1951-71).

Sha Yuqing（1907-1966）

A renowned scientist in water conservancy,founder of the discipline of China’s irrigation and water conservancy,professor and chair of water conservancy Dept at National Northwest Agricultural College(1937-47),director of Northwest Institute of water Resoures,Science(1956-66).

Chou Io(1912-2008)

A famous entomologist, academician of International Academy of Sciences, San Marino, professor at National Northwest Agricultural College from 1939 on, founder of the journal Entomotaxonamia and Entomology Museum of Northwest A&F University.

Zhao Hongzhang（1918-1994）

A renowned scientist in wheat breeding, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor, engaged in teaching and research at Northwest Agricultural College ever since 1942, created a unique wheat breeding system and cultivated high-yield wheat cultivars such as “Bima 1”and “Fengchan 3”extensively planted in northern China.

Li Zhenqi(1922-2007)

A renowned plant pathologies, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, main founder of plant immunology and wheat stripe rust research in China, professor, engaged in teaching and research at Northwest Agricultural College from 1949 on, during which he studied and did academic research in USSR from 1957 to 1959.
