Disciplines Group for Agricultural Water Efficiency and Regional Water Security

The disciplines group continuously improved its capacity to undertake major research tasks at the national, provincial and ministerial levels, chaired over 20 national key research and development projects and sub-projects and more than 100 national NSF projects, industrial systems projects, extension cooperation and international cooperation projects with a total fund of  182 million Yuan; The innovation platform is further consolidated: the MOA Discipline Group for Crop Water Efficiency approved and implemented and an 11.92 million Yuan equipment renewal funds granted; Academic innovation capabilities were significantly improved: more than 800 SCI papers have been published, including 45 papers in Water Resources Research, Journal of Hydrology and other top international journalsand 14 ESI MostCited Papers. In talent team construction, 5 experts were selected as national-level talents and 3 at provincial and ministerial levels. Overall constructionof disciplines group is steadily advancing:orientations of crop water consumption process and regulation and water-saving irrigation technology and equipment are approaching the global frontier; orientations of dry-land agriculture water efficiency technology and regional water security theories and water&soil resources management developed basically into internationally-renowned and domestically-leading disciplines.
